On 9-9-16 we visited Animal Allies Human Society in Duluth, MN (http://www.animalallies.net/) to see how they operate their facility and we got a great idea of how they managed an animal shelter that was founded in the 1950s. Lindsay Snustad the Executive Director and Daryl Yankee the Shelter Operations Director showed us their whole facility and told us a lot of the problems that they faced as they were growing their facility. We appreciate the time that they gave us from their busy schedule, as the information they gave us was extremely valuable.
On 9-13-16 we visited the Nebraska Human Society(NHS)(http://www.nehumanesociety.org/) in Omaha, Nebraska. NHS is a huge facility that can house 250 cats and 250 dogs. They were founded in 1875 making it the fifth oldest humane society in the States. Kiley Maddux their Vice President of Operations showed us their huge facility made up of four buildings that serve the many operations that they run. We appreciate the time that Kiley was able to give us from her busy schedule so we could see just how they can run a facility that has 150 paid staff and 600 volunteers.
