Check out our current local stars!

This summer, Jack Pine Brewery is featuring three long-term residents—Arlo, Rhea, and Sinclair—on their cans! Stop by to grab a brew and support these sweethearts. A huge thank you to Jack Pine Brewery and Viking Shipping and Label for the extra support!

Arlo

Arlo boy is a 2-year-old, 59-pound American Bulldog Mix who came to the shelter when his owners unfortunately split and neither could care for their pets. He is a loving, goofy, and energetic boy! He loves getting outside for playtime and running around.

Arlo previously lived with another dog and did really well, though he can be a little reactive to new dogs here at the shelter. He just needs a slow introduction, as his excitement sometimes gets the best of him! While he’s had a few accidents in his kennel, he is potty trained in a home environment with a routine. He’s also smart as can be and sits perfectly for a treat!

Rhea

This 11-year-old, 72-pound Dutch Shepherd mix is ready to bring a calm and loving energy to your home. She's a beautiful, sweet, and very low-key dog. She does well with gentle children, dogs, and cats - nothing fazes her! She simply likes to relax and hang out with friends.

When she's not napping, Rhea still loves to get out for walks. She walks very well on a leash, though she occasionally has selective hearing when she finds something interesting to smell or wants to take a rest. Most of the time, Rhea is happy to relax on the couch and nudge you for some chin scratches. Rhea is potty trained, though she sometimes has accidents when left home alone for long periods of time.

Sinclair

Sinclair is a 3-year-old, 55-pound Chow Chow and Shepherd mix who was rescued from a difficult hoarding situation. When he was first rescued, he was struggling with a flea infestation, inflamed skin, and thinning hair. Despite his rough start, Sinclair is an incredibly loving boy with all of our staff and visitors.

He has been fully treated for fleas, his coat has grown back in so well, and he is ready to start his new life! He would be the perfect fit for a medium energy home where he can romp around outside, then chill with his people for lazy afternoon naps.

Sinclair has made a few dog friends here at the shelter, but he would prefer a meet and greet with any dogs you have at home. Because of his background, he can be a little shy with brand new people. He’s looking for someone who can be patient as he opens up, learns some basics, and masters potty training.
