Day Trips!

Provide a shelter animal with the special opportunity to enjoy a day out in the community! The Babinski Foundation invites volunteers to take approved shelter animals on day trips. Whether treating your furry friend to a pup cup, enjoying a scenic hike, or visiting your favorite local spots, these experiences provide shelter animals real-world experience and socialization, ultimately making them more adoptable. Not only do they get a break from shelter life, but they also have the chance to forge new connections and experience new things!

Sleepovers!

Should your day trip be successful, why not extend the invitation for a cozy sleepover with your newfound companion? Volunteers are encouraged to host sleepovers with shelter animals, offering the animals an opportunity to experience a home environment and prepare for their forever homes. This experience not only aids in preparing them for their permanent homes but also allows us to know these animals better and find them the right home. Extend an invitation to your furry friend for an unforgettable sleepover experience!

To take a dog on an outing

  • Read through our safety manual and sign our liability waiver.

  • Schedule a meet and greet with the shelter animal you would like to take on an adventure.

  • If the shelter animal will be interacting with your personal animals, we advise that you consult with your veterinarian beforehand to ensure that all your personal pets are healthy and up-to-date on all vaccines. Shelter animals can carry diseases, so your pets will be safest if vaccinated!
